TWO CHOICES FOR DIASPORA, A SINGLE CHOICE FOR ME.

TWO CHOICES FOR DIASPORA, A SINGLE CHOICE FOR ME.

Each and every Armenian in the Diaspora will have to make a choice, barring indifference, to either support the democratically elected government of Armenia or not support it.

Diaspora either:

Stands with the democratically elected government of Republic of Armenia, presently headed by NP, and thus help secure to prolong its existence and thus enable it to  assist Armenia.

Or

Does not stand with the democratically elected government of Armenia, and thus facilitate the earlier dissolution of its inevitable demise and deprive Armenia from Diaspora wide assistance.

For an example, at this junction, if the Diaspora was to donate the nominal sum of $250 for each of the 120,000 Artsakh Armenians to help them start their lives anew far from their ancestral homeland, that would mean, Diaspora has to oversee the collection, distribution of 30 million $. Diaspora does not have the structure, the organization for overseeing the transparent, accountable, audited collection and transfer of even lesser sums, let alone 30 million. (120,000 Artsakh Armenians, diaspora donating $250 each = $30,000,0000 (thirty million $)

I am not sure how much has Diaspora contributed towards the Artsakh Armenians relief. Whatever that may be, it also helps Diaspora.

Understandably significant assistance is rendered by the state and through the state institutions. The Armenian government, I quote Congressional Research Center (CRS), “is addressing the needs of Nagorno-Karabakh’s newly displaced population (others were displaced after the 2020 war). On October 12, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the government had allocated $100 million in assistance, including the provision of about $240 to each displaced person and up to $720 per person for six months’ rent and utilities as needed, as well as schooling and job placement services.

The International Committee of the Red Cross and U.N. agencies are providing humanitarian assistance. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced the United States would provide more than $11.5 million in regional assistance, including “for those affected by the ongoing crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh.” The European Union (EU) announced it would provide about $11 million in humanitarian assistance and another $16 million in budget support to Armenia. EU member states and others also are providing assistance.”

Assisting Armenia assures the longevity of the Diaspora.  Each and every Armenian in the Diaspora will have to make a choice, either  to support the democratically government of Armenia or not support it.

As for me, it is a principled stand and there is. but a  single choice, and that is assisting the free, independent and democratic Armenia as long it is governed with the consent of the citizens of Armenia through a transparent, orderly democratic election.

I am driven by a simple conviction, that we either continue to carry on led by a democratically elected government seated in Armenia or parish sooner. I stand with the democratically elected government of Armenia. At the present, it is  headed by Nikol Pachinyan as its PM.
