Doctor Avedis Injejikian was born in Kessab in 1884. He received his primary education in the Armenian Evangelical school for boys in Kessab. Subsequently he attended the Aintab College, which was also known as Central Turkey College. He graduated in 1907 and returned to Kessab where he taught for the following two years.
In 1912 he started attending the American Univeristy of Beirut School of Medicine.
In 1914, he married the daughter of physician Soghomon Apelian whose wife Ovsanna hailed from Behsni in Turkey.
In 1915, his schooling was interrupted, and he was exiled with his family. He was stationed in Jisr-al-Shughur (Syria) for some time and then was settled in Aleppo where he was put in service of the Ottoman Army along with father-in-law.
After the armistice (1918), he continued his studies in the American University School of Medicine from which he graduated in 1919.
From 1920-1922 he was employed as Syrian municipal physician. He returned to Kessab in 1923.
In 1934 he was elected a member of Syrian Parliament representing Antioch and Kessab regions. He was reelected in 1925.
For political reasons he left for Khartoum, Sudan, where he worked as a physician for two years.
In 1938 he returned to Kessab and served the people of Kessab until his death in 1976.
During his medical studies in Beirut, he became one of the early members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. In 1905 he became a member of its student association (presently Zavarian Student Association). Upon moving to Kessab he became one of the founders of ARF in Kessab.
In 1910, with a group of young Kessabtsis he laid the foundation of the Kessab Educational Association. Through his efforts the Kessab United School was founded and he became the legal proprietor of its properties.
In 1914 he participated in the Armenian Revolutionary Federation summit that was held in Garin/Erzeroum.
He remained a faithful and devoted active member of the ARF.
He equally served all the denominations of Kessab and its relief, athletic and educational organizations.
Doctor Avedis Injejikian played an important role in organizing the municipality of Kessab in 1923 and served as its physician for a long time. He spearheaded the municipality’s and grass root projects for water distribution, electricity and for general upkeep.
He was a respected doctor, not only by the Armenians but also by the Arabs and Alevis, Greek, and Turkic people and their leadership.
He has been a serviceable physician and has attended to the needs of his patients with love and care. He also has attended to ameliorate their social issues as well. He has served unconditionally, without expectation. He has been a friend to the needy and advocate for Armenian education and upbringing. He was an honest, unbiased, and a considerate person.
Doctor Avedis Injejikian died in 1976 and was buried in his beloved Kessab

Հայոց Ցեղասպանութենէն Վերապրած Բժիշկ Աւետիս Ինճէճիքեանի Կենսագրութիւնը

Բժիշկ Աւետիս Ինճէճիքեան ծնած է Քեսապ, 1884ին: Նախնական ուսումը ստացած է Քեսապի մանչերու աւետարանական վարժարանին մէջ: Գացած է Այնթապ եւ ուսանած է տեղւոյն քոլէճին մէջ (որ նաեւ Կենդրոնական Թուրքիոյ քոլէճ կը կոչուէր), աւարտած է 1907ին: Վերադարձած է Քեսապ եւ երկու տարի ուսուցչութիւն ըրած է:
1912ին մեկնած է Պէյրութ եւ բժշկութիւն ուսանած է Պէյրութի Ամերիկեան համալսարանի բժշկական դպրոցին մէջ:
«1914ին ամուսնացած է քեսապցի բժիշկ Սողոմոն Աբելեանի եւ անոր պեհեսնիցի կնկան՝ Ովսաննա Առաքելեանի դստեր հետ»:
1915ին ձգած է ուսումը եւ տարագրուած է ընտանեօք: Շրջան մը կը մնայ Ճըսըր Շուղուր, Սուրիա, ապա աներոջ՝ բժիշկ Սողոմոնին հետ կը հաստատուի Հալէպ եւ կը ծառայէ օսմանեան բանակին մէջ:
Զինադադարէն ետք, կը վերադառնայ Պէյրութ եւ կը շարունակէ բժշկական ուսումը: Կը վկայուի 1919ին:
1920-1922ին կը գործէ Սուէտիոյ մէջ, իբրեւ քաղաքապետական բժիշկ: Կը վերադառնայ Քեսապ, 1923ին:
1924ին կ՛ընտրուի Սուրիոյ Երեսփոխանական ժողովի անդամ՝ Անտիոքի եւ Քեսապի շրջանէն: Կը վերընտրուի 1925ին:
Քաղաքական պատճառներով կը հաստատուի Խարթում, Սուտան, եւ հոն կը գործէ երկու տարի, իբրեւ բժիշկ:
1928ին կը վերադառնայ Քեսապ, կը սկսի ծառայել Քեսապի հայութեան եւ այդպէս կը շարունակէ մինչեւ իր մահը, 1976:
Պէյրութի մէջ ուսանողութեան շրջանին, կը դառնայ տեղւոյն ՀՅԴի անդրանիկ անդամներէն մէկը: 1905ին կ՛ըլլայ Պէյրութի «Զաւարեան» ուսանողական միութեան անդամ, իսկ աւելի ուշ, կ՛ըլլայ Քեսապի մէջ կազմուած ՀՅԴի միաւորին հիմնադիրներէն մէկը:
1910ին, խումբ մը երիտասարդներու հետ կը հիմնէ Քեսապի Ուսումնասիրաց միութիւնը: Խարթումէն վերադառնալէ ետք, կը ղեկավարէ այս միութիւնը:
Իր ջանքերով կը հիմնուի Քեսապի Միացեալ վարժարանը: Ան կը դառնայ Միացեալ վարժարանին արտօնատէրը յաչս պետութեան:
1914ին կը մասնակցի Կարինի մէջ կայացած ՀՅԴի երկրորդ համագումարին:
Եղած է ՀՅԴի հաւատաւոր եւ անսակարկ ծառայող եւ գործող անդամ:
Իր ծառայութիւնները ի սպաս դրած է Քեսապի ամբողջ հայութեան, բոլոր յարանուանութիւններուն, Օգնութեան խաչին, ՀՄԸՄին եւ կրթական մարմիններուն:
Բժիշկ Աւետիս Ինճէճիքեան մեծ դեր ունեցած է Քեսապի քաղաքապետարանի կազմութեան մէջ, 1923ին: Երկար ատեն եղած է Քեսապի քաղաքապետական բժիշկ: Իրականացուցած է քաղաքապետական եւ ժողովրդական ձեռնարկներ, մանաւանդ ջուրի, ելեկտրականութեան, բարեկարգումի մարզերուն մէջ:
Եղած է յարգուած բժիշկ ո՛չ միայն հայերուն, այլ նաեւ Քեսապի արաբ, ալաուի, յոյն եւ թուրք բնակիչներուն եւ անոնց ղեկավարներուն կողմէ:
Եղած է ծառայասէր բժիշկ, դարմանած է հիւանդներուն ախտերը սիրով եւ հոգածութեամբ, բուժած է մարդոց հոգեկան տառապանքներն ու դժուարութիւնները: Ծառայած է անսակարկ, առանց ակնկալութեան, եղած է բարեխնամ, բարեսիրտ, ուսումի եւ կրթութեան ու հայեցի դաստիարակութեան նուիրեալ մարդ: Ան արդարամիտ, անկողմնակալ եւ շրջահայեաց անձ մըն էր:
Բժիշկ Աւետիս Ինճէճիքեան մահացած է 1976ին եւ թաղուած է իր սիրելի ծննդավայրին՝ Քեսապի մէջ:
