The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has expressed Russian Federation's concenred about the welfare of the Armenia's church. (վայ, վայ, վախ, վախ)
But,
AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL OF THE SO-CALLED ARMENIAN CHURCH UNDER ATTACK IS ARMENIA and NOT RUSSIA
Armenia either exits this crisis as a constitutionally driven sovereign state, in peace with its neighbors and with the superpowers of the region and of the world. Or Armenia is in Russian Federation camp, much like Belarus and per recommendation of Belarus' strong man and perpetual president Aleksandr Lukashenko, himself an oligarch, and to the delight of the oligarchs in Armenia who are mostly from Karabakh, and have turned into opposition leaders. And also, to the delight of the high ranking bishops of Etchmiadzin who live beyond reproach and want to continue living without reproach and in cahoots with Russian Orthodox Church and the state of Russia instead of the Armenian state.
This crisis is a matter of livelihood for the citizens of Armenia but not to hyphenated Diaspora Armenians.
The citizens of Armenia either make that choice at the ballot box or by civil war and live the consequences of the choice they make.
Two suppositions in this article bewilder me: hyphenated diaspora Armenians and the choice between the ballot box and civil war.
ReplyDeleteFor me the fact is that not all diasporan Armenians are in confusion regarding the events in Armenia. Only a small faction are in disarray mainly due to misinformation, biased, idiosyncratic and party oriented rhetoric. While the choice of civil war for the citizens of Armenia is not only remote but rather quite illusionary.
