Irma Ajemian – Իրմա Աճեմեան, 1936-1990

Բնագիրը կցուած է։ On Facebook page of Güven Bayar, I came across the posting of a page long brief biography of Irma Ajemian, the mother of Daron Acemoglu, one of the latest Nobel Prize laureates in economy. I attached my translation of her biographical sketch.  Vahe H Apelian.

Irma Ajemian (1936-1990_

“She was born in Istanbul. After graduating from Esayan Lycee, she graduated from the Pedagogical Division of the Istanbul University Faculty of Literature.

She taught in our preschools. For eleven years she was the principal of the Aramian-Ounjian secondary school.

She started writing from her student days. Her first poems were published in the literary pages of "Marmara" daily and in "San" issues. She held an editorial position in "Marmara" for a while, signing various writings in prose.

In 1966, she also edited the "Gamar" periodical.

The prized poetess has been awarded the Sarkis Boghosian "Istanbul Armenian Poets" prize.

Irma Tokat – Ajemian suffered from an incurable disease since 1984.

The poetess, imbued with humanitarian feelings, was the wife of the famous lawyer and lecturer at the Istanbul University Faculty of Law, the late Kevork Ajemian, and the mother of the internationally acclaimed famous economist Prof. Dr. Daron Ajemian.

Her poems are collected in two volumes titled: ”Give Only – Dal Meayn” and “My lines – Em Doghers”.

Ծնած է Իսթանպուլ։ Եսաեան Լիսէն աւարտելէ վէրջ՝ շրջանաւարտ եղած է Իսթանպուլի Համալսարանի Գրական Ֆաքիւլթէի Մանկավարժութեան ճիւղէն։

Ուսուցչութիւն ըրած է մեր նախակրթարաններուն մէջ։ Տասնէմէկ տարիներ վարած է Արամեան-Ունճեան միջնակարգ վարժարանին տնօրէնութեան պաշտօնը։

Սկսած է գրել դպրոցական շրջանին։ Իր առաջին քերթուածները լոյս տեսած են «Մարմարա» օրաթերթի գրական էջերուն եւ «Սան»ի թիւերուն մէջ։ Միջոց մը խմբագրական պաշտօն վարած է «Մարմարա»ի մէջ, միանգամայն ստորագրելով զանազան արձակ գրութիւններ՝

1966ին ալ խմբագրած է «Կամար» պարբերականը։՚

Արժէքաւոր բանաստեղծուհին արժանացած է՝ Սարգիս Պօղոսեան հաստացած՝ «Իսթապուլահայ բանաստեղծներ» մրցանակին։

Իրմա Թոքաթ – Աճեմեան, 1984էն սկսեալ տառապեցաւ անբուժելի հիւանդութիւնէ մը՝

Մարդկայնական զգացումներով տոգորուած բանաստեղծուհին կողակիցն էր Իսթանպուլի Համալսարանի Իրաւագիտութեան բաժնին յայտնի դասախօս եւ փաստաբան ողբացեալ՝ Գէորգ Աճեմեանին եւ մայրը միջազգային չափանիշներով հռչակաւոր տնտեսագէտ, Փրօփ. Տօքթ. Տարօն Աճեմեանին։

Իր քերթուածները ամփոփուած են՝

«Տալ Միայն» եւ «Իմ Տողերս» անուն երկու հատորներուն մէջ։
